Laurence Shahlaei wins Giants Live in Finland

Laurence Shahlaei won the Finland grand prix at the Ideapark on June 9th. This is the first time a Brit has won a full Giants Live contest. This follows on from Shahlaei's impressive win at Britain's Strongest Man. Johannes Arsjo of Sweden and Lauri Nami of Estonia took 2nd and 3rd place and qualified for the World's Strongest Man show.

Tomi Lotta of Finland was sitting in third place until the last event when he had a terrible showing in the event that he holds the world record in - the forward hold. He stated after that there a pain in his shoulders and he just couldn't continue.

On discussing his victory Laurence Shahlaei said "I am thrilled with the win and qualifying for World's. Its been a good couple of weeks with winning this and winning Britain's Strongest Man. I am now looking for something big at Europe's Strongest Man on June 23rd. It is too early to think about World's Strongest Man but I am certainly looking to have a top finish there too."
